entertainment
Over the years, the Washington Chapter of the AFS has become well known for the entertainment provided at their conferences. And this upcoming 2009 conference will be no exception. Here are some of the main features we have already lined up for you:
Thursday is the start day of the conference and we usually try to arrange a tour of one of the local prestige companies. Nothing has been arranged to date, but keep checking back here as full details will be posted just as soon as we can arrange something.
However, we will be holding our traditional "Beer & Pretzels" gathering in the main exhibitor booth area from 4pm to 6pm. Come on down and get acquainted with your fellow conference attendees. This event is always a lot of fun for everyone.
All past chairmen of the Northwest Regional Conference are once again invited to the traditional Past Chairmens' Dinner night at the Union Square Grill - within walking distance of the Red Lion Hotel - at 620 Union Street, Seattle. Spouses are invited, as are all past chairmen from all chapters that are attending the conference. Full details can be obtained from Mark Morel - click here.
Our regular Friday night Cheese & Wine Party takes on a new dimension this year. Not only will we have lots of tasty cheese and fine wines to tingle your pallet, we will also be bringing the Washington Wineries to you.
We will have multiple Washington State Wineries on site at the Red Lion Hotel. You will be able to taste dozens of fine wines produced right here in Washington State, purchase your favorites and have them delivered to you in a couple of days.
In the background will be an All-Foundry Jazz Band playing some of your favorite numbers.
You might need more wine for this lot !!!
Traditionally we save the best entertainment to be our finale on Saturday night and round off a great three-day conference.
We know that many of you will be attending the AFS Casting Congress at the Paris Hotel, Las Vegas in April of 2009, so what better way to hone & sharpen your gambling skills and talents before you go with a Casino Night at your local AFS conference? That's right"
Saturday, March 21, is CASINO NIGHT
There will be a selection of tables including Craps, Blackjack, Poker - with all the usual hold 'em favorites.
Once again, you will be pleased to hear that any proceeds from the Casino Night will go to the WA-AFS Education Fund.
